Deep inside every adult woman,
lurks a monster.
One we hope we will
never have to face.

The monster has
a feared name.
"Breast Cancer."

When you utter the words
" I found a lump
in my breast"
The war against
the monster begins.

It is one of the hardest and
most deadly wars
a woman will ever fight.

The monster is insidious
He slowly gains strength.
He has been lurking
for 8 to 10 years,
before he makes
his presence known.

Once you have discovered
him, he will try
to fill your waking
and sleeping hours,
with a feeling of dread,
and hopelessness.
Fight the feeling!

This is one of his most cruel weapons.

A woman must learn
to believe in herself and
and in her own power.

We are often referred to as
the weaker sex.
Another myth,
to be dispelled.

Women are strong
The monster can be destroyed.
Women must arm themselves
with knowledge and determination.

First, remember
you are not alone.

In our own neighborhoods
and around the world
grandmothers, mothers,
daughters, sisters,
and aunts, each fight,
this very same monster.

Each year many are winning.
A war is won,
one battle at a time

There are many sources,
from which women can draw
strength, hope, comfort,
and knowledge.

The time is coming
when the monster
will be destroyed.
